The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has refuted a viral video claiming that petrol from Dangote Refinery, sold by MRS Oil, lasts longer than NNPC’s fuel.
The video showed a man using generators to compare fuel from the two sources. NNPC called the video “misleading” and emphasized that their petrol is formulated for optimal efficiency, durability, and environmental sustainability.
NNPC clarified that a large portion of the petrol sold at their Lagos stations, where the video was filmed, comes from Dangote Refinery, a key partner.
They stressed that Dangote Refinery adheres to strict standards, ensuring product quality.
NNPC believes the video is a deliberate attempt to misinform the public and damage their reputation.
They stated they will take legal action against anyone spreading false information about their brand and operations, holding them accountable under the law.
