Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has opened up about the challenges she faced while adjusting to fame and public attention.
Speaking during an episode of The Boost Podcast, the singer reflected on her early days in the music industry and admitted that she initially struggled with being recognised in public.
Tems explained that before gaining widespread recognition, she was used to living a private and relatively quiet life. As her music career grew, however, she found it difficult to adjust to the increased attention from fans and the public.
The singer recalled feeling uncomfortable when people began recognising her in public, noting that part of her wanted to maintain the private lifestyle she had before becoming famous.
Tems has since grown more accustomed to life in the spotlight, establishing herself as one of Nigeria’s internationally recognised music stars.
