The Osun State Government has announced the formation of a joint security taskforce in response to recent incidents of violent crime across parts of the state.
The decision was made as part of efforts to strengthen security operations, protect residents, and restore public confidence in the state’s safety measures.
According to the government, security agencies have been directed to work closely together through the newly established taskforce to identify and apprehend those responsible for criminal activities. The initiative is expected to improve intelligence gathering, surveillance, and rapid response to security threats.
In addition, the state government has placed all security formations on a 24-hour alert, ordering intensified patrols and increased monitoring of vulnerable areas. Authorities said the move is aimed at preventing further attacks and ensuring the safety of residents and visitors.
Officials reassured citizens that the government remains committed to maintaining law and order, urging members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to security agencies.
The government also called for cooperation between communities and security personnel, emphasizing that collective efforts are essential in the fight against crime and violence.
Residents have been encouraged to go about their lawful activities while security agencies continue operations to restore peace and safeguard lives and property across the state.
