Nollywood actress and African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate in Abia State, Doris Ogala, has publicly declared her full support for detained Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
Ogala described Kanu as a “messiah” and “prophet,” claiming that several of the warnings and predictions he made in the past have eventually come to pass.
The actress, who is seeking the Abia State governorship seat in the 2027 election, also stated that securing Kanu’s pardon and release would be among her priorities if she emerges as governor.
According to her, she remains firmly behind the IPOB leader and believes his cause deserves attention.
Her comments have generated reactions online, with Nigerians expressing different views about her position, Kanu’s continued detention and the political implications of making his release a major campaign promise.
While some have applauded Ogala for openly stating her position, others have questioned whether the issue should be a priority for a governorship candidate and what legal or constitutional steps would be required to secure Kanu’s release.
