The Enugu State Police Command has rescued a kidnapped woman during an intelligence-led operation in a forest hideout in the state.
According to the police, operatives stormed the kidnappers’ camp after receiving credible intelligence. During the operation, a gun battle ensued, leading to the death of one suspected kidnapper, while the abducted woman was rescued unharmed.
The police said efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest the fleeing members of the gang. Security operatives also recovered items from the suspects’ hideout as part of the investigation.
The command reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property, urging residents to continue providing useful information that will help security agencies combat crime across the state.
