The Jigawa State Police Command has confirmed that its operatives successfully foiled two separate robbery attempts in Hadejia and Sule-Tankarkar Local Government Areas, leading to the death of one suspect and the arrest of three others.
According to the police, officers responded swiftly to distress calls from the affected communities. During the Hadejia operation, the suspects engaged the police in a gun duel, resulting in one of the robbers being neutralized, while others fled.
In a separate incident in Sule-Tankarkar, police operatives apprehended three suspects believed to be part of a robbery gang terrorizing the area. Weapons and other incriminating items were reportedly recovered from them.
The command assured residents that it remains committed to protecting lives and property while intensifying efforts to track down other fleeing members of the gangs.
Authorities urged the public to continue providing timely and credible information to help sustain the fight against criminal activities in the state.
