Afrobeats star Davido has publicly criticized National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) President, Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, following his opposition to the Osun State Government’s suspension of the union’s activities.
The Osun State Government, led by Governor Ademola Adeleke, recently banned NURTW operations across motor parks in the state after violent clashes between rival factions. The government also suspended the collection of transport levies and directed security agencies to arrest anyone operating in the name of the union.
Reacting during an event, MC Oluomo, represented by his deputy, Aliyu Issa Ore, argued that the governor had no legal authority to suspend the activities of the NURTW, stating that the union is not under the control of any state government.
He said, “We heard that the Osun State governor suspended the activities of our union, but he does not have the power to do so. No state governor has the authority to suspend the activities of the union because we are not under any state.”
Davido, who is Governor Ademola Adeleke’s nephew, responded to MC Oluomo’s remarks in a post on social media, mocking the NURTW president’s communication skills.
The singer wrote, “MC Oluomo wey no fit compose sentence dey talk… Kudosuuuu.”
Davido’s reaction has since sparked mixed reactions online, with many social media users debating the ongoing disagreement between the Osun State Government and the NURTW leadership.
