Content creator De Peters has criticised social media activist VeryDarkMan over his marketing approach to selling power stations, questioning the impression that the business is primarily aimed at helping Nigerians rather than making profits.
De Peters argued that VeryDarkMan, like other business owners and influencers he often criticises for promoting commercial products, is equally running a business to make money.
He further pointed out that several companies were already selling power stations in Nigeria before VeryDarkMan ventured into the market, with some allegedly offering products with similar specifications at lower prices.
According to De Peters, VeryDarkMan should acknowledge that his power station business is also a commercial venture rather than presenting it as though he is doing Nigerians a special favour.
His comments have sparked conversations on social media, with Nigerians sharing different opinions about product pricing, influencer marketing, business transparency and the perceived double standards surrounding commercial promotions.
