A Nigerian man has sparked reactions online after urging Nigerians to shift their attention from “Ratels” activities to the upcoming 2027 general elections.
The man questioned why some Nigerians were more focused on activities associated with the Ratels rather than preparing for the elections. He encouraged citizens to focus on promoting and supporting political candidates they believe can bring meaningful change and improve the country.
He also mentioned social media activist VeryDarkMan (VDM), arguing that in a country where institutions function effectively and public accountability is taken seriously, an activist should not have to constantly call out individuals and organisations over various issues.
According to his argument, Nigerians should pay greater attention to political participation and leadership choices rather than relying heavily on social media activism to address the country’s challenges.
His comments have reignited discussions online about the role of activists, the importance of public accountability, and the need for citizens to make informed political decisions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
While some may agree with his call for greater political participation, others may argue that activism and electoral engagement can work together to promote accountability and national development.
