The mother of late Nollywood actress and influencer Nimmy Ferrari (Nimota) has made an emotional appeal to Nigerians, alleging that members of her daughter’s paternal family are trying to prevent her from being buried in her newly completed house and may be attempting to take control of the property.
Speaking through tears, the grieving mother claimed that she single-handedly raised Nimmy and her siblings with little or no support from their father.
According to her, Nimmy was the last surviving child among the five children she had for the family.
“Nigerians, please help me. Save me from Nimota’s father’s family. They said Nimota should not be buried in her house. I had five children for their family, and it’s only Nimota that was left. Now they say they have taken her away from me,” she lamented.
The mother further alleged that during Nimmy’s illness and hospitalization, members of her paternal family did not contribute financially toward her treatment.
“When she was in the hospital, I did not see anyone come forward to support her. Her father did not pay a dime. He did not send her to school, and he never paid her school fees. I was the one who trained her from the beginning until she graduated from the university,” she said.
She also recounted past conflicts with Nimmy’s father, claiming that a disagreement over school fees once turned violent and left her injured.
According to the grieving mother, she approved plans for Nimmy to be buried in her own house because the actress had no children, and she wanted her legacy to remain connected to the property she worked hard to build.
“She has no children, so her legacy should not be lost. That is why I instructed that she be buried in her house. I have my own house; there is nothing I want to gain from Nimota’s property,” she explained.
The mother further alleged that some relatives are interested in selling the house despite not contributing to its construction or to Nimmy’s upbringing.
“Help me, Nigerians. They want to sell the house off. The people who did not spend a dime on her are now fighting over her property,” she said.
The emotional plea has sparked reactions online, with many Nigerians calling for peace, transparency, and a fair resolution between both sides of the family as they mourn the late actress.
As of the time of reporting, members of Nimmy Ferrari’s paternal family have not publicly responded to the allegations.
