The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested four suspected kidnappers for allegedly plotting to abduct a resident and extort a ransom of N30 million.
According to the police, the suspects were apprehended following credible intelligence and a swift operation by security operatives, which foiled the planned kidnapping before it could be carried out.
Investigations revealed that the suspects allegedly conspired to target the victim and demand a huge ransom from the family. Police said items believed to be linked to the planned operation were recovered during the arrest.
The suspects are currently in police custody and are assisting investigators with further inquiries. Authorities also assured residents that efforts are ongoing to track down any other members of the criminal gang who may still be at large.
