A Sharia Court sitting at Sharada Hisbah in Kano State has sentenced Mohammed Habibu to six months’ imprisonment without the option of a fine for assaulting and verbally abusing his parents.
According to the court, Habibu had repeatedly mistreated and insulted his parents after they advised him to stop engaging in immoral activities.
The charges were read before the court, and the defendant pleaded guilty to all counts.
Presiding Judge, Justice Sani Tanimu Sani Hausawa, called witnesses to verify the defendant’s confession before delivering judgment.
After reviewing the evidence and the guilty plea, the court convicted Habibu and sentenced him to six months in a correctional centre without the option of a fine.
