TikTok has intensified its content moderation efforts in Nigeria, removing more than four million videos and disrupting over 86,000 LIVE sessions as part of its commitment to maintaining a safer and more trustworthy platform.
According to the platform’s latest Community Guidelines Enforcement Report, the actions were taken during the fourth quarter of 2025 following violations of TikTok’s community standards. The report highlighted the company’s continued efforts to combat harmful content, misinformation, fraud, harassment, and other activities that breach its policies.
TikTok said a significant percentage of the removed videos were detected proactively through automated systems before they were reported by users. The platform noted that most of the violative content was taken down within a short period after being uploaded.
The report also revealed that more than 86,000 LIVE sessions in Nigeria were either interrupted or permanently banned for violating TikTok’s guidelines. The company explained that LIVE content remains a major focus of its enforcement strategy because of the potential risks associated with real-time interactions.
TikTok stated that the removed content represented only a small fraction of the total videos uploaded by Nigerian users, stressing that the vast majority of content shared on the platform remains positive, educational, and entertaining.
