A tragic incident has been reported in Ilare, Osun State, where a man lost his life following a dispute over ₦8,000 allegedly generated during a masquerade festival.
According to preliminary reports, the disagreement broke out between individuals involved in sharing proceeds from the festival. What started as a verbal altercation reportedly escalated into violence, leading to the victim being stabbed during the confrontation.
He was rushed for medical attention but was later confirmed dead.
The Osun State Police Command has confirmed the incident and stated that a suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the stabbing. Investigations are currently ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the clash.
Authorities have urged residents to remain calm as efforts continue to ensure justice is served.
