The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has deployed a total of 2,280 personnel across Kwara State to ensure a safe and peaceful Easter celebration throughout the state.
According to the command, the large-scale deployment covers all 16 local government areas, with officers strategically positioned to protect lives, property, and critical national assets during the festive period. Key locations receiving heightened security presence include churches, recreational parks, event centres, and other public gathering points where large crowds are expected.
The NSCDC emphasized that the operation is part of proactive measures to prevent crime, respond swiftly to emergencies, and maintain law and order before, during, and after the Easter celebrations. Personnel have also been tasked with safeguarding critical infrastructure such as power installations, water facilities, and government properties from vandalism or sabotage.
Residents of Kwara were urged to remain law-abiding, stay vigilant, and cooperate with security agencies by reporting any suspicious activities. The corps reassured the public of its commitment to ensuring a hitch-free celebration and called on citizens to celebrate responsibly.
The command further noted that collaboration with other security agencies is ongoing to strengthen surveillance and ensure comprehensive coverage across the state.
