Nigerian troops have arrested a 64-year-old man, Dauda Gubula, for allegedly supplying armed drones to Boko Haram.
The suspect was apprehended during a military raid in Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State. According to security sources, the operation was carried out following credible intelligence linking Gubula to the procurement and delivery of drone technology to terrorist elements operating in the North-East.
Military officials revealed that the suspect allegedly played a key role in equipping insurgents with drones modified for surveillance and possible weaponization. The use of drones by terrorist groups has become a growing concern for security agencies, as it enhances their ability to monitor troop movements and carry out coordinated attacks.
Items recovered during the raid are said to be undergoing further forensic examination, while investigations continue to determine the extent of the suspect’s network and collaborators.
