The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its counter-terrorism and counter-banditry operations across the country, launching a series of precision airstrikes that have reportedly neutralised dozens of insurgents and destroyed several of their hideouts.

According to NAF authorities, the airstrikes were carried out in the North-East, North-West, and North-Central regions — areas notorious for terrorist and bandit activities. The coordinated operations targeted key terrorist enclaves and logistics bases belonging to groups such as Boko Haram, ISWAP, and armed bandit networks.Intelligence sources revealed that the strikes, executed by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai and other joint task forces, followed credible intelligence reports that identified high-value terrorist locations and movement routes.

The airstrikes, officials said, were precise and devastating, leaving several fighters neutralised and their camps in disarray.NAF spokesperson, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, confirmed that the latest operations are part of sustained efforts to weaken terrorist strongholds and restore peace and stability in affected regions.

He added that ground troops have since been deployed to mop up the areas and apprehend fleeing insurgents. He reiterated the commitment of the Nigerian Air Force to maintaining relentless pressure on criminal elements, noting that the recent successes demonstrate the effectiveness of improved intelligence-sharing and enhanced operational coordination among security agencies.

The NAF assured Nigerians that it will continue to support the armed forces and other security agencies in ensuring the safety of citizens and the protection of national sovereignty.
