Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company, xAI, on Monday unveiled a new online encyclopedia called Grokipedia, designed to rival Wikipedia, which Musk has repeatedly criticized for what he describes as “ideological bias.”
According to xAI, Grokipedia aims to provide a more balanced, transparent, and fact-driven platform for information sharing, integrating insights from Musk’s AI chatbot Grok, available on X (formerly Twitter).Musk, who has often accused Wikipedia of political slant and censorship, said the new platform would promote “truth through open collaboration,” allowing users to contribute and verify content through AI-assisted moderation.
The launch marks Musk’s latest move in expanding xAI’s ecosystem, following the rollout of Grok as part of his broader vision to integrate artificial intelligence with the X social media platform.
