Soldiers Nab Two Fake Policemen With Cannabis in Taraba

Troops of the 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, working in collaboration with operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), have arrested two men who allegedly posed as police officers while transporting cannabis in Taraba State.The suspects were intercepted during a joint operation, which led to the recovery of cannabis consignments concealed in two vehicles. According to military sources, the men were dressed in police uniforms in a bid to evade security checks and give legitimacy to their illicit activities.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were not genuine police personnel but impostors attempting to use the disguise to smuggle drugs through security checkpoints.The cannabis seized during the operation has since been handed over to the NDLEA for further action, while the suspects are being subjected to intensive interrogation.

The 6 Brigade Command reiterated its commitment to working with relevant security agencies to clamp down on drug trafficking and other criminal activities in the state.Authorities have assured the public that all individuals involved in the crime will face the full weight of the law.
