A Nigerian woman, recently seen in a viral courtroom video, has shared her side of the story after a man, Emmanuel, sued her for allegedly collecting transport fare and failing to meet him.
The woman explained that she and Emmanuel only knew each other online. She stated that Emmanuel insisted she travel from Asaba to Abuja to see him, but she wanted him to visit her instead. “Before Emmanuel sent that money to me for transportation, I told him he should come over to my city,” she said. “He said no, that he cannot visit a woman.

She clarified that Emmanuel sent her ₦50,000 without her asking for it. “Where will ₦50,000 take me from Asaba to Abuja?” she questioned, implying the amount wasn’t sufficient for the trip.

After she didn’t travel, the woman claims Emmanuel and his friends began threatening her. She said she offered to refund the money, but he refused and became angry. “What if I had gone there and something happened to me? You people would still blame me,” she said, expressing her frustration.
She also claimed to have eventually refunded Emmanuel ₦450,000, not just the ₦50,000 that was widely publicized. She further alleged that people were secretly recording her in court, despite an order against filming the proceedings.
