Ghanaian dancehall musician Shatta Wale, whose real name is Charles Nii Armah Mensah, has responded defiantly after a yellow 2019 Lamborghini Urus was seized from his home. The raid was conducted by Ghana’s Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) and the FBI.
In a TikTok live session on Tuesday, August 5, Shatta Wale stated that he was unaware the car was linked to any criminal activity in the United States and claimed to have purchased it for $150,000. He expressed his frustration with the authorities and insisted he had done nothing wrong.
“Raymond Archer, I go leave the car for you people. Don’t come to my house. Make nobody say they invite me. That be why I buy new Lamborghini,” he declared, referring to EOCO’s Acting Executive Director.
The artist dismissed the value of the seized car, stating that material possessions are insignificant and that his purchase of a new Lamborghini was to show that “it was just a car.
The singer also lamented the repeated legal challenges he has faced throughout his career in Ghana and made a bold claim about his future, stating, “One day, I go be president of Ghana.
“That yellow Lamborghini, I no even want am. Car sef we dey talk about am like that, before you go drive then something go happen. Take am. Make them take go America and go chew am. ‘Cause I no need am. I no even want am. That be why I buy a new one,” he added.
