MC Oluomo has responded to critics who have been making fun of his English.
He stated that even though he might not speak flawlessly, his accomplishments have allowed him to provide his children with excellent educational opportunities.
During a public address, he recounted his path from being a bus conductor to holding a high-ranking position in the transport union, emphasizing that his progress was due to his hard work and determination.
In a widely circulated video, he said, “I remained there and worked diligently, even without a formal education. Look, they’re pointing out that I said ‘Kundus.’ Isn’t my son named Kundus? You claim to be educated; what have you achieved? They should go and compete with my children. I’ve raised my children in comfort. My children hold citizenship in America and the UK. I toiled to reach this level. ‘Kundus,’ ‘kudos,’ what’s the distinction? What exactly do you want to hear? English isn’t my first language; Yoruba is.
His message was direct: his achievements are more significant than his grammar, and he takes pride in the future he is creating for his children.
