Kwara Police Arrest Singer Portable Following Petition

The Kwara State Police Command has arrested musician Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, known as “Portable,” in response to a petition filed by Mr. Okunola Saheed (“Osupa”). Police spokesperson SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi confirmed the arrest in a statement, detailing that the petition contained serious allegations including:

Use of abusive and insulting words

Criminal defamation

Threat to life

Incitement

Character assassination

Conduct likely to cause a breach of peace

Based on the severity of these allegations and supporting evidence, the police obtained an arrest warrant from a Magistrate Court in Ilorin.
On Saturday, April 13, 2025, officers arrested Portable in Abeokuta, Ogun State, at approximately 7:25 PM. He was then transported to Ilorin for questioning.

Police stated that Portable’s statement was taken with legal representatives present from both sides. He remains in custody and will be charged in court promptly.

The Kwara State Police Command reiterated its commitment to the rule of law and fair justice, urging the public to avoid spreading misinformation.
