Nwachukwu Ifeanyi has been sentenced to six months in prison for currency racketeering.

The conviction was handed down by Justice Mohammed Garba Umar of the Federal High Court in Enugu State. Ifeanyi was arrested on February 9, 2024, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after they received intelligence about his activities.
He was found to be selling new naira notes from his shop on Douglas Road in Owerri, Imo State.
He was charged with racketeering N500,000 in N500 denominations. Ifeanyi pleaded guilty, and an EFCC operative testified that he was caught selling the notes at his shop.
