In Ekiti State, a 23-year-old man, Solomon Fabiyi, has been arrested for allegedly attempting to use his young nephew, Jomiloju, for a money ritual. Fabiyi was apprehended by police on February 14, 2025.
Originally from Kwara State but born in Ekiti, Fabiyi confessed that a native doctor instructed him to provide someone for the ritual.
He claimed the native doctor assured him the person wouldn’t die but would suffer from a lifelong ailment. Fabiyi said he chose his nephew, intending to provide him with education and a good life using the money gained from the ritual, while the child lived with the ailment. He explained that he lives with Jomiloju’s mother and helps care for the child.
Police spokesperson Sunday Abutu confirmed the arrest, stating that Fabiyi confessed to the crime and has been charged in court.
