Content Creator Laments Return of Long BRT Queues in Ikorodu

News

A Lagos-based content creator has raised concerns over the return of long queues at the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) terminal in Elepe, Ikorodu, just days after authorities reportedly assured commuters that the issue had been addressed.

The creator, who previously drew public attention to the situation through a viral video showing hundreds of commuters stranded at the terminal, said the problem appears to have resurfaced despite the Lagos State Government’s earlier response.

In a new update shared on social media, she expressed frustration after revisiting the terminal and finding another large crowd waiting for buses. According to her, commuters were once again forced to stand in long lines for extended periods due to the limited number of buses available.

She questioned why the situation had not improved, noting that government officials had earlier promised to deploy more buses to ease the congestion after her initial protest sparked widespread reactions online.

Many commuters at the terminal reportedly echoed similar concerns, saying the shortage of buses has continued to cause delays for workers and students who rely on the BRT system for daily transportation.

The development has renewed calls for authorities to urgently address the transportation challenges facing residents in the Ikorodu area, one of the busiest corridors in Lagos with thousands of commuters traveling to the mainland and island daily.

Residents and social media users have also urged the Lagos State Government to provide a lasting solution to the recurring queues at BRT terminals to prevent further inconvenience for commuters.
