Godson Brume, the fourth-fastest Nigerian sprinter in history, has pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a firearm in the United States while on a non-immigrant visa.

The case arises from a February 2025 incident in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Authorities reported that Brume was at his apartment with another woman when his ex-girlfriend, the mother of his infant child, arrived. A confrontation ensued outside the apartment, during which Brume allegedly discharged a Glock 43X pistol while the child was present.

According to investigators, a second altercation occurred after the ex-girlfriend entered the apartment, during which Brume fired multiple shots as she ran away. Some bullets struck walls within the apartment complex. Prosecutors also allege that Brume destroyed his ex-girlfriend’s phone, took the child, and threw the firearm into nearby bushes before deputies arrested him.

Brume now faces a maximum of 15 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, up to three years of supervised release, and possible deportation from the United States.Welcome to KjtsonBlog, your trusted source for Nigerian celebrity news, Naija entertainment updates, and trending news in Nigeria.
