Popular content creator Onye Obodo has expressed disappointment over the recent incident involving Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi in Benue State, where reports indicated that some individuals blocked his movement and prevented him from carrying out his planned activities.
Reacting to the development, Onye Obodo, who described himself as “100% Obidient,” said he was unhappy with the way the situation unfolded and believed Peter Obi should have responded differently.
According to him, Obi’s decision to turn back after being stopped by the group sent the wrong message to his supporters. He argued that political opponents may interpret the move as a sign of weakness ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a strongly worded statement, Onye Obodo urged Obi to give supporters advance notice whenever he plans to visit any state for political engagements, suggesting that loyal supporters could mobilize and provide a stronger presence on the ground.
Referencing a Bible verse, he said supporters must be prepared to defend their political interests and ensure that similar incidents do not occur in the future. He maintained that while his group does not seek confrontation, they are willing to stand their ground if challenged.
The content creator further stressed that the political landscape ahead of 2027 should not follow the pattern of previous elections, insisting that supporters must be more organized and proactive.
His remarks have since sparked reactions online, with supporters and critics debating whether Peter Obi handled the Benue situation appropriately and what lessons should be taken from the incident as political activities gradually build toward the next election cycle.
