Speaking during a recent discussion, the UK-based pastor said the church intentionally organized activities in some of the most exclusive hotels and locations to ensure members were not intimidated or overly impressed by wealth and status.
According to him, female members were given opportunities to visit high-end venues, interact with influential individuals, and experience lifestyles that are typically accessible to only a small percentage of people.
Adegboyega said the goal was to help young women develop self-confidence and avoid being easily swayed by wealthy men, celebrities, or public figures simply because of their social status or financial influence.
He explained that SPAC Nation held church gatherings, lunch events, and feeding programmes in prestigious locations such as the Rosewood Hotel and The Dorchester, describing the approach as intentional rather than a display of extravagance.
The pastor argued that exposing members to such environments helped establish what he called a “basic wealth standard,” allowing them to see success and luxury as attainable rather than something to be idolized.
He also dismissed criticism from people who accused the church of showing off wealth, insisting that many critics misunderstood the purpose behind the initiative.
According to Adegboyega, the experience was designed to empower young women, ensuring that any decisions they make in relationships or life are based on personal choice rather than being influenced by someone offering them access to a lifestyle they have never experienced before.
His comments have since sparked conversations online, with supporters praising the idea of confidence-building and exposure, while critics continue to debate whether luxury-focused church activities are the right approach to mentorship and empowerment.
