A 36-year-old Kentucky father has been arrested after authorities said nanny-camera footage captured him allegedly abusing his three-month-old daughter.
Shaun Webb was arrested on Friday, August 21, 2026, in Boone County, Kentucky, and faces 10 felony counts of criminal abuse.
According to deputies, an out-of-state family member handed over video footage after receiving it from Webb’s wife, the baby’s mother. The footage allegedly showed Webb slapping the infant in the face while she cried on August 19.
Authorities also said Webb was seen holding the baby by the back of her head while covering her face for about 19 seconds, during which her legs were reportedly seen flailing. In other incidents, he allegedly covered the infant’s face with his hand several times.
The criminal complaint states that Webb was heard yelling at the baby to “stop crying” and telling her, “you’re going to learn!”
Webb also has a two-year-old son. During an interview with detectives, he reportedly admitted using similar actions against the boy multiple times when he was an infant, stopping when the child was about nine months old.
According to investigators, Webb told detectives that children are “like a dog” and that they need to be “trained” and have boundaries.
He reportedly said his daughter’s crying “triggers me, like nails on a chalkboard.” Webb allegedly claimed that covering her mouth and nose was not intended to cause harm but was an attempt to deprive her of oxygen as a way of “training” her behavior.
The allegations have sparked widespread concern over the treatment of infants and the importance of protecting children from abuse. Webb now faces multiple felony charges as the case proceeds through the court system.
